Green ammonia - which is produced through a carbon-free process using 100% renewable energy – it is expected to be an important marine fuel in a net-zero emission economy. Maritime traffic is responsible for 2.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, hence decarbonizing this industry is going to be crucial to address climate change. In contrast to hydrogen, ammonia can be liquified at a fairly low pressure (10 bar) at ambient temperature, making it easier to store and transport.
