Adaptive Mounts
Conventional hydromounts represent a compromise between good isolation and good damping. However, mounts can be optimized by adjusting the characteristics of mounting components to the respective driving conditions. This is achieved through the use of adaptive hydromounts.
The stiffness characteristics and damping behavior of adaptive hydromounts can be altered. In order to achieve optimum isolation, hydraulic damping can, for example, be switched off when the engine is idling. The damping function is switched on during driving to improve the handling of the vehicle.
